Remember our interesting experience volunteering to clean up Norman Oklahoma after the F5 tornado that devestated the 20+ mile long and mile wide patch of land seen behind us in this picture?

Trip to Boise - Craters of the Moon

These are the latest of 8 Super Volcanos that exploded with whole earth impact over the last 14 million years. The one on the far right is where Yellowstone Park now is. It blew only 600,000 years ago. The middle one blew 400,000 years before that, and our lake house sits on the shore of the lake near the upper part of the caldera.

Weekend Trip to Idaho to testify at the Cosmo Board Hearings

Here are some pictures along the way to Boise two weekends ago. I drove on dirt roads turning left out of the gate from the Centennial Shores gate. Followed the Centennial range all the way to Boise and learned about the caldera explosions that formed the snake river valley.

Rocking the House

This is how it was done. Doug operated the enclosed cab forklift and Brett took the rocks to their final destination.

The Heavy Equipment Worker

Ryan had fun operating the earth mover

The Lake House Project

Doug, Jayme and Leslie have been up at the cabin with their cousin Brett building retaining walls for the driveway and along the lake. It is looking great. It did get a little cold and snowy near the end of the two weeks.

Quick Trip to the Lake

Leslie and I took a quick trip to the lake this weekend. George was in town to play in a Paul Jacobsen concert at University of Utah. On Sunday morning we took him to the airport. It was great seeing him and getting the four boys together for the golf you play with a Disc on Saturday. After we dropped George off we went up to Island Park to the cabins. We sorted through the storage garage, took some things to the River Cabin and enjoyed the time together. Jayme and Doug came up Sunday evening. On Monday morning Doug and I went to Yellowstone rentals and rented an enclosed cab fork lift and bob cat tractor. I drove the fork lift to the lake cabin and then we got busy moving many large lava rocks. It was a blast. Finally got to drive a tractor and a fork lift. We left Monday evening at 8:30ish and arrived home at 2am. It was worth it!

Learning how to blog

George is here teaching me how to add posts to the blog. He is visiting while shadowing the SLC Paul Mitchell school with Steven. He is playing a huge rock show tonight with Paul Jacobsen at the Post theater near University of Utah.
